Arkansas promotes student success in advanced math by requiring students to complete Algebra I. To support achievement, the state could guarantee access to advanced math and ensure students finish Algebra I by the end of grade 9.

4 Strands of Math Proficiency

To become proficient in math, students need to develop mathematical proficiency which is a combination of real-world problem-solving skills, procedural fluency, conceptual understanding, and productive dispositions.
