New Mexico supports math achievement with a state-approved screener with parental notification for students who need support within 15 days of the screening. To support achievement, the state could guarantee access to advanced math.

To become proficient in math, students need to develop mathematical proficiency which is a combination of real-world problem-solving skills, procedural fluency, conceptual understanding, and productive dispositions.
